Jeffersontown restaurant combines arcade gaming, dining

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – There’s a new restaurant in Jeffersontown that’s adding arcade games to your dining experience.

Recbar held grand opening Friday and will begin serving their full menu Tuesday.

The restaurant on Taylorsville Road is being dubbed a “bar-cade” and has plenty of games to choose from.

“We’ve got two skee ball machines, a lot of the old Mortal Kombat, some of the shooting games like house of the dead. We have Ms. Pac-Man, Galaga all the classics that way. Donkey Kong. Then we have things like shuffleboard, ping pong and foosball games if that’s more your speed,” owner Corey Sims said.

Tokens are used to play the games.

Recbar also has board games at the tables, so patrons can play while waiting for food.

The menu features pub grub, sandwiches, tacos and salads, and 16 beers rotating on tap.

Children are welcome to hang out during the day but the restaurant is 21 and over after 10 p.m.
